FAQ

Common questions

Yes. Short-term rental income is subject to 16% IVA in Mexico. If you collect via Airbnb, the platform withholds and remits IVA on your behalf for rentals it processes, but you must still file a monthly IVA declaration and may owe additional amounts on income from other platforms or direct bookings.

Rental income is subject to ISR (income tax) at the applicable rate for your business structure — either as an individual or as a corporation. Allowable deductions include cleaning fees, maintenance, platform commissions, management fees, and depreciation on furnishings.

Yes. Any worker you employ — including housekeepers and maintenance staff — must be registered with IMSS. Failure to do so exposes you to back contributions, fines, and potential business closure. We handle registration, monthly IMSS filings, and bi-weekly payroll.

We generate monthly per-property statements showing gross rental income, OTA commissions, cleaning fees, maintenance expenses, management fees, and net disbursement — in English for foreign owners and with full SAT-compliant accounting behind the scenes.

You must consolidate both income streams in your monthly declarations. Airbnb's withholding counts as a tax credit, but direct bookings require you to self-report and pay IVA and ISR monthly. We reconcile both sources so nothing is double-counted or missed.
